For the first time since 2019, the gorilla has started driving by itself!
For the past three months, we've been in the process of running day distributions to companies ourselves, instead of shedding it to Dropp, Carrier or TVG Xpress.
It is one of our main goals to offer the best delivery opportunities in Iceland at any given time and we felt we could do better when it came to b2b shipments (wholesale orders to companies) that handle day distribution in the capital area.
- These are usually large orders = the most valuable shipments for our customers.
- Large orders take longer to process. Distributors were therefore picking up and delivering the next business day. That's why the most valuable shipments were going out last time. Something we wanted to change!
The results after this "test phase" (February-May '22) were excellent. We realized that we can deliver almost all shipments faster (same day instead of the next day) and also reduce the prices to customers for pallet deliveries!
So the gorilla has resumed running, for the first time since 2018-2019, when we ran all orders ourselves – to offer same-day delivery in the capital area unknown at the time 🙂
