What can you expect from us?

  • Online store reception: All orders received before 1 p.m. are processed and shipped out the same day. 
  • B2B Processing: Wholesale orders are processed the same day or the next business day. Depends on the size of the orders and the time of day they come in. Larger orders may take longer to process.
  • Goods receipt: It takes 1-2 business days, or up to 16 business hours, to process consignments into the warehouse and update the inventory status. It is a condition that a goods receipt list is sent to [email protected] so that information about the shipment is available.
  • Customer Service: We try our best to answer all inquiries the same day.
  • Delivery time on orders: After orders are processed in the warehouse, they are shipped to customers. Delivery time in the capital area and the southwest corner of Iceland (85% of Icelanders) is the same day, but almost all orders in the countryside are delivered the next business day.

Good to keep in mind for email communication

In order for us to solve problems for you quickly and safely – and without having many back-and-forth emails, please give the warehouse as detailed information as possible in the first message.

For example, always state the order number and SKU number of the products in question. Provide more information rather than less, and we can answer you right away – it saves time for you, the warehouse and the customer.

How does the connection between online shopping and Gorilla work?

If you have an online store, we've probably connected your warehouse and your store with an "API connection".

The base element is the SKU number

The API connection between the online store and Gorilla Warehouse sends the inventory status of items and orders between systems. The basic unit in this context is the SKU (SKU = item number) and each item must therefore have an item number. The SKU must be registered exactly the same in the online store as in the warehouse system.

If the SKU number is not 100% correct across systems or the SKU is missing from the online store, then the stock status and orders with that item number will not be syncast and the order will not be processed. It is therefore very important that each product is registered with an SKU number in the online store.

What does our API connection do?

  • Picks up orders from the online store and syncar to the warehouse
  • Sends updated status to online store when order has been processed
  • Retrieves the correct inventory 24/7 from the warehouse and displays it in the online store. Inventory levels are controlled from the warehouse.

What does the API connection not?

  • The connection does not update orders if changes are made
      • The API connection picks up orders only once, and that is when an order is placed.
      • Changes made to the online store after an order is placed are not returned to the warehouse.

  • The connection doesn't pick up orders that are marked as fulfilled, unpaid, or on hold.
    • We only pick up orders that are marked as paid and undelivered. There is a default setting in both Shopify and WooCommerce.
    • We do not recommend offering bank transfers as a payment method.
  • The connection doesn't create new products
    • If you create new products in an online store, you must also send the warehouse the start information about the products so that they can be created in the warehouse.

Important: Our warehouse management system only works on desktop and in the Chrome browser. If you run into any problems, start by checking if you're on a computer and not a phone and what browser you're using.

Gorilla Warehouse uses Extensiv, a centralized warehouse management system. We use this system to work for you every day. You also get access to your own backend in this system, where you can, among other things:

Important settings in online store

It is important that all settings in the online store are correct so that the correct information is delivered to the warehouse. Are you in the clear? Here are a few things to look out for:

  • Customers must fill in both phone and email address when ordering (configured under "Settings -> Checkout" in Shopify.
  • Is there a SKU number on every product?
  • Are shipping options displaying correctly when you try to add items to the cart? And are the prices the way you want them on shipping channels?

Home delivery and distribution

At Gorilla Warehouse you have access to the best shipping options in the country, we take care of delivering orders to distributors and we guarantee you better deals.

Below is a list of the shipping options available, prices can be found in the warehouse's tariff.

  1. Dropp's delivery locations are 100+ and all over the country. List of all delivery locations here. These are the cheapest shipping methods in the country, convenient delivery on the beaten track, can be picked up almost 24/7 and the package waits for the recipient for two weeks. The best that is available in Iceland, as about 90% of the orders that the warehouse processes are sent out with this mold.
  2. Repatriation on the same day in both the capital area and the southwest corner of Iceland. Covers 85% of the population over the age of 16.
  3. Samskip's shipping point of delivery across the country: Ideal for larger packages and shipments in rural areas where Dropp does not have a delivery point.
  4. Gorilla Daily distribution: Daily distribution to companies in the capital area. The goal is to run valuable B2B shipments as fast as possible and at lower terms than we've heard of elsewhere.
  5. Home delivery and postbox with Iceland Post. Especially suitable for rural areas.

Around 90% of online shoppers choose to use Dropp's pick-up points. Almost all orders for stores, companies, restaurants, pharmacies and the like go with Górilla Dagdreifing.
